PERSISTENCE OF COLOR

If you’re a fan of color photography, street photography, and impressionist paintings AND you’ve never heard of Saul Leiter; do yourself a favor… go look at his work.

This series isn’t me trying to be Saul, but his work has been a big influence on my own color photography and a primary inspiration to make this series. Saul Leiter was a huge advocate for color photography to be considered in the world of fine art. And often, the colors in his images were the primary subject. This series is an ode to his work and is my intention to let the colors of the world take a leading role.

These photographs include varying uses of focal length, reflections, and abstractions to capture scenes from daily life. The goal is to present a collection covering a wide range of techniques and subjects that may otherwise seem unrelated but are all tied together through color.
